I think that the problem (from one view) with mainstream media is they're controlled by business interest. They mostly present news, and news are viewed as commodity. If it sells, put it on. And of course, they all have their own judgements on whether a news sells. In the contrary, bloggers put ideas. Later, ideas become news. There's only a little, if any, business interest involved. Everything can be bloged about, even a simple matter most people think unimportant.
